Adaptive fire testing
Choosing experiments that maximise expected information gain and support performance-based fire design.
Read moreI am an Assistant Professor in Resilience in Civil Engineering at the University of Liège. My research focuses on the analysis and design of structures exposed to single and multiple hazards, considering trade-offs introduced by fire and seismic safety, sustainability, and resilience. In this process, I use reliability- and risk-based methods to handle uncertainties in natural hazards, man-made hazards, structural response, and hazard-induced consequences. Moreover, I employ optimisation techniques to manage multiple design criteria and uncover solutions beyond the realm of conventional experience and judgment.
